Abstract

We show how computer based optimization techniques can be successfully developed for modelling and solving spectrum management problems faced by the UK Radiocommunications Agency. In particular, we address the UHF 2 band realignment and give a detailed analysis of the problem, model and solution techniques. The thrust of this research is founded on a state-of-the-art optimization package, FASoft, which has been developed in collaboration with the UK Radiocommunications Agency.
