Abstract
This chapter provides a general review of bolometer theory and instrumentation techniques for millimeter-wave bolometric receivers. Formulae for bolometer optimization and sensitivity are derived. The design and construction of standard composite bolometers, monolithic silicon bolometers, and silicon nitride bolometers are compared. Sensitivities of standard composite bolometers and silicon nitride micromesh bolometers are discussed. Loading...
