Abstract

Cleopatra Thea Eueteria (ca. 164–121 bce), second child of Ptolemy VI Philometor and Cleopatra II, was a Ptolemaic princess, first sent to Syria by her father, who would later go on to become the wife of three Seleucid kings and mother of four sons who would eventually take the Seleucid throne. She was the first woman in the Seleucid dynasty to rule alone over Phoenician Syria for a period in 126/125 bce, and then as co-regent until her death in 121/120.
