Abstract

This paper focuses on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy to be used as an intervention for Schizophrenia. There is a brief description of how it came to be considered to be used in this population, along with a review of the current literature. It does not intend to compare CBT to other interventions, but explains how CBT is promoted by various advisory bodies to be offered as routine care, and how there are limitations to how this is being implemented. These limitations are discussed, and potential solutions offered. The potential solutions are described using a change management theory, which aims to change the focus on who will deliver this intervention.
