Abstract
Derek Dunne, a Mowat Mellon Fellow at the Folger, talks about his research project, Rogues' Licence: Counterfeiting Authority in Early Modern Literature, and shares a favorite item from his research: a 1451 letter from Sir John Fastolf, asking his steward to track down a license granted by the King Henry VI. "Before Elizabeth I, paperwork was affecting people's lives in really concrete ways," notes Dunne.
