Abstract
A criticism of the German film "Schultze Get the Blues," directed by Michael Schorr, is presented. The author is concerned with Schorr's depiction of the U.S. South in comparison to Eastern Germany, both of which are locales featured in the film. The ways in which the film engages with the German notion of "Heimat," or, roughly, "homeland," are explained as well.
