Abstract

The overarching question for this qualitative systematic review is: What meanings are attributed to the experience of physical restraint among adult patients or their significant others in acute care hospitals? Specifically the review will seek to answer two questions. How do adults who have or are being restrained experience this intervention? How do family/significant others who visit an adult inpatient who is or has been restrained experience the intervention?
