Abstract

In this paper, it is investigated how panarchy theory can be used to address corporate irresponsibility in supply chains. Set in the scene of the COVID-19 pandemic, the paper seeks to highlight how panarchy theory can be a useful theoretical lens for better understanding supply chains and corporate irresponsibility. The paper employs a multiple case study approach in that it studies three cases of corporate irresponsibility. Based on the case studies, a conceptualization of panarchical sustainable supply chain management is outlined highlighting the extended responsibilities of managers today.
