Abstract

A novel technique to eliminate current harmonics is presented in this research work. In this novel technique, magnetic flux compensation is proposed with full mathematical analysis. In this approach, the option of harmonic magnetic flux elimination is possible. The harmonics cancelation relies on magnetic flux compensation using the advantages of the Amorphous magnetic material. The introduction of this material enables us to design such a required transformer core. The flux compensation is possible as this material has an attractive characteristic, this is due to its ease to be magnetized and demagnetized. Also, they possess high magnetic flux density combined with very low core losses, which makes it an ideal core for magnetic filter circuits.
