Abstract

This text talks about the literary creation of cartonera within the Social Reintegration Centers of Jalisco. The article is made up of three parts. The first explains the relationship between the representatives of the centres, the owners of the cartonera publishing houses and a group of women and men deprived of their liberty. The second describes how prison literature generates a reflection on the logics of social, class, racial and gender domination that are reproduced in prison. In the third part, we reflect on the injustice of the prison issue and the slow propagation, in Latin America, of abolitionist thought, this if we think of prison and its selective forms of punishment as a colonial residue before which we need to establish more critical positions.
