Abstract
An analysis and discussion of the nature and role of the Fenlands of eastern England, and their importance for contacts and exchange for the populations who lived around Fed Edge, in the Early Anglo-Saxon Period, especially the later fifth and sixth centuries AD. The study is based primarily on the detailed evidence from the burial site at RAF Lakenheath, Eriswell parish, Suffolk.
