Abstract
Book review A Theory of Cultural Heritage: Beyond the Intangible". Salvador Munños-Viñas I was lucky to have been given ‘A theory of cultural heritage: beyond the intangible’ by Salvador Munños-Viñas to review and it has certainly been a stimulating read. Munños-Viñas invites us to address theoretical issues with intellectual finesse and that is the only way to approach this book. This would be a perfect book club book. Anything that Munños-Viñas writes is interesting and challenging, I want to talk about it with fellow conservators and I have questions! There were times reading this book where I felt that I had been swept along by Munños-Viñas’ logic and language. I wanted to pause and decide if I agreed with the fundamental starting points. I wanted to talk with colleagues about whether I have understood the meaning of the words, phrases and chapters to make sure I was doing it justice. Finally, I wanted to talk about the implications of these ideas for my practice.
