Abstract
The integration of distributed generators (DG) and load fluctuations has led to increased voltage fluctuations in distribution systems. This study introduces a grid-forming hybrid transformer (GFM-HT) solution for voltage regulation and power support. The efficacy of this solution is demonstrated using the IEEE 33-bus system in MATLAB/Simulink. Results show that the GFM-HT effectively regulates node voltage within the range of 0.9 to 1.1 per unit (p.u.). Through a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy, the GFM-HT accurately adjusts power based on the power command value and can operate in island mode, thereby enhancing voltage and power support capabilities.
