Abstract

In Chapter 3, a transfer-function-based stability analysis method has been introduced, which can determine whether a converter system converges and its oscillation frequency. However, this method may not provide sufficient insight or a deep understanding of the system's stability and is not applicable to a black box system. To facilitate understanding and extend the application of small-disturbance stability analysis for a converter-integrated power system, further development of stability analysis methods is conducted in this chapter to offer a clearer understanding of system stability and enable black box stability analysis. Three methods, including state-space, impedance stability, and measurement-based stability analysis, are introduced to meet these requirements, and a comprehensive summary of all these methods is provided.
