Abstract

This paper describes the use of the Bees Algorithm to handle a stochastic optimisation problem. A new fitness evaluation method based on computing the average fitness value for each bee over a number of trials rather than the value for a single trial. This enables the algorithm to be applied to situations where the fitness value changes even when the location visited by a bee remains the same. The application studied in this paper involved setting the parameters for the Ant Colony System algorithm to facilitate the solution of a Travelling Salesman Problem
