Abstract

Compression therapy is the mainstay of treatment of venous ulceration. We have observed foot drop, due to compression of the common peroneal nerve on the fibular neck, related to compression therapy. Specifically, we believe this complication arose due to a reduction in the usual amount of padding employed on account of the unusually hot weather at the time. We are unaware of a precedent and seek to alert wound care providers to this potential hazard.
