Abstract
As a greater number of software developers make their source code available, there is a need to store such open-source applications into a repository, and facilitate search over the repository. The objective of this research is to build a digital library of Java source code, to enable search and selection of source code. We believe that such a digital library enable better sharing of experience amongst developers, and facilitate reuse of code segments. Information retrieval is often considered to be essential for the success of digital libraries, so they can achieve high level of effectiveness while at the same time affording ease of use to a diverse community of users. Four different matching mechanism: exact, generalization, reduction and nameOnly is used in retrieving Java programs based from information extracted through template mining.
