Abstract
The optical detection of four high-redshift radiogalaxies is reported, including one, 6C1232 + 39 (4C39.37), with a redshift (z = 3.22) which puts it among the most distant galaxies known. These radiosources were unidentified on CCD images. The spectroscopic observations were made 'blind', using a long slit centered on the radio position and aligned with the radio structure. The advantages of this method of observing objects from radio-selected samples is discussed.
