Abstract

Considers the use of the multipliers from the Sixth Edition of the Ogden Tables, focusing on the Queen's Bench Division ruling on the award of damages in Conner v Bradman & Co Ltd. Discusses the extent that courts can alter the post-injury multiplier in view of the negative impact of disability on employment prospects. Looks at the impact of adjustment on the claimant's damages. Examines the possibility of bias and imprecision in the reduction factors. Discusses issue relating to life expectancy under the Tables.
