Abstract
This book chapter examines the work of Alexandre Jardin, son of Jean Jardin, a highly placed official under the Vichy regime. The chapter explores Alexandre Jardin's fictional confrontation with his grandfather's collaborationist past via the frame of post-memory and the ethical imperative for a third generation to address the attitudes and behaviours of a previous generation which were largely 'passes sous silence'.
