Abstract
Sequential matrix diagonalisation is a recent technique to iteratively approximate a polynomial matrix eigenvalue decomposition. Its key is to transfer as much energy as possible from off-diagonal elements to the diagonal in every iteration step. In this paper, we compare a reduced search space technique for this energy transfer to the global optimum determined by an exhaustive search.
