Abstract
The corpus callosum (CC), may be the main pathway for communication between the two cerebral hemispheres (Bloom and Hynd, 2005) and the spread of seizure activity (Wyler, 1993). CC is a fiber bundle of about 300 million fibers in the human brain that connects the two cerebral hemispheres. The interhemispheric functional repertoire of the CC includes the perceptual, integration, cognitive and volitional information (Sabine and Jens, 2006). The main role of the CC in epilepsy is the interhemispheric transmission of epileptiform discharges.
