Abstract

Background: Stressful life events are commonly associated with both unipolar depression and bipolar disorder. However, less attention has been paid to investigating whether such events are more salient for unipolar than bipolar disorder. This study aimed to investigate whether there are any differences between unipolar and bipolar cases in the rates and types of stressful life events reported before their worst affective episodes.
