Abstract
In this paper we discuss work undertaken as part of a project funded by the British Academy. Our project seeks to explore how other disciplines within the university conceptualise legal academia and the extent to which they possess insight into the kinds of research in which legal academics are engaged and the kinds of skills they possess. The aspiration of the project is to create a foundation for developing ‘bridging’ strategies between law and other disciplines, as well as identifying key factors which can strengthen the conditions for cross-disciplinary work.
