Abstract

Photogrammetry is a method of using software to construct 3-d ‘wire mesh’ models from multiple photographic images. It therefore allows capture of 3-d information using very basic tools. It can also be used in situations where the 3-d information may be lost in the future. We will briefly demonstrate examples from museum specimens and field exposures where we have found it useful, and hope that others might contribute to the debate or be encouraged to use it in future.
