Abstract
Humanitarian aid supply chain management (HASCM) research is a relatively new field. As far as the authors are aware, there has not been an assessment of all theoretical perspectives for HASCM, and this is important in order to identify future research areas, theories, trends and gaps. The objective of this paper is to provide an insight into the conceptual and theoretical development of academic research in the HASCM field through an analysis of a unique dataset covering all identifiable academic papers relating to HASCM research (Approxinately 400 papers). Findings indicate a weak theoretical basis, but that theory is developing.
