Abstract

The Sixth Colloquium on Innovation in Modern Languages Education took place in Exeter and was organised by LanGW4 which brings together researchers and language practitioners from the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. The purpose of the conference was to discuss and share innovative practices in the field of language learning and teaching. The round table on different practises for the Year Abroad focused on how the Year Abroad is assessed in the different institutions, the support students get before going abroad and while they are abroad and the trends in terms of number of students undertaking study placements, work placements and British Council language assistantships.
