Abstract
The article analyzes the positions of the union leadership in the context of the international installation of the military government, especially considering Argentina's participation in the International Labor Organization (ILO). This review will empirically refute the analyzes that maintained that union activity was suspended due to the magnitude of the repression and the interventions against workers' organizations. On the contrary, the intense activity displayed by the Peronist union leadership in 1976 will be revealed, and their positions and expectations regarding the de facto government will be analyzed.
