Abstract
This project presents a testing methodology to complete multivariate analysis on dynamic wireless charging systems through an adjustable and semi-modular laboratory experimentation setup. The test setup proposed allows for variation of operational frequency, input power, coil alignments, operational airgap, receiver movement speed and coil geometries. The test apparatus facilitates easy adjustment of all system variables. Initial results obtained were utilised to evaluate the future applications for dynamic wireless charging. The test setup proved an excellent foundation for future studies and improvements to its design are suggested. The maximum efficiency obtained from the setup was 58%. The technology of dynamic wireless charging is feasible for niche applications, though it is not suitable for widespread adoption.
