Abstract

In the previous chapter, the proposed impedance stability analysis relies on the determinant of the impedance interaction matrix, which involves a two-dimensional impedance system. Although the determinant of a matrix is a valid mathematical method for explaining system stability, it does not clearly specify the physical impedance interaction, as in the case of a single-dimensional RLC circuit. In this chapter, various methods to further simplify the impedance interaction matrix into a single-dimension impedance are presented to demonstrate their effectiveness and limitations. The widely adopted "negative resistor" criterion for explaining system stability is also included.
