Abstract
The converter-induced oscillation due to control interaction actually consists of two frequencies, including either subsynchronous and supersynchronous oscillations, or supersynchronous and negative sequence oscillations. These two frequency oscillations are distributed in a mirror-frequency manner. This phenomenon is referred to as the mirror-frequency effect of converters. In this chapter, the mechanisms behind why converters induce the mirror-frequency effect are explained in detail to provide a clearer understanding of converter-induced oscillation.
