Abstract

Most authors took part in the workshop “AI & Data Centres in the Energy Transition,” held during the NTNU Energy Transition Week in March 2026. The workshop brought together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government agencies to examine how the rapid growth of AI data centers is impacting the grid and what instruments are necessary to foster a sustainable buildout. More information on the workshop can be found at https://www.ntnu.edu/energytransition/ai-data-centres-in-the-energy-transition.
