Abstract

Burnout is a series of symptoms and behaviours that result from chronic unmanaged stress. The resultant feelings of exhaustion, depersonalisation and poor engagement with tasks impact on both vocational and social spheres for the individual. Burnout can be caused by physical, emotional or mental stressors.
