Abstract
By reviewing governance and city alliance theories in literartures, and analysing existing megalopolis coordination and governance in China, the author argues that the establishment of cities alliance will provide a plaftorm for communication, discussion, exchanging, cooperation and coordination in a megalopolis. However, without mutual belief and trust, it is unable to establish an appropriate cities alliance. One important condition for mutual trust is the mutual support and benefits, and mutual dependence. An appropriate economic compensation mechanism will be a precondition for the effectiveness of cities alliance.
