Abstract

This volume draws on myriad sources in order to examine comprehensively the issues raised by, and the political impact of redistricting, thus providing the definitive resource for all those concerned with this important issue in British local government. The book assesses the party political impact of new ward boundaries, draws on interviews with key participants at both local and national level, makes comparisons between the "British way" and other jurisdictions, and puts forwardways in which the process could be improved by the new Electoral Commission.
