Reading Mentoring Intervention Scoping Report.
[Project Report].
Cardiff, Wales:
|
Abstract
This scoping project aims to explore if and how mentoring can support improved attitudes towards reading and also the enjoyment of reading for learners in schools in Wales. Whilst the project is focused on how mentoring could be mobilized to increase enjoyment of reading, it is also acknowledged that a potential impact of increased enjoyment is improved reading attainment. The scoping project builds on a number of successful mentoring initiatives delivered in Wales, most notably the MFL Mentoring Project, funded directly by Welsh Government, and the Physics Mentoring Project. The project aligns with the Welsh Government’s disadvantaged agenda and aims to propose a model that could be scalable through time to offer an all-Wales initiative.
