Abstract
The activities here proposed focus on two Spanish films: Cómo ser mujer y no morir en el intento [How to Be a Woman and not Die in the Attempt, 1991] and Cosas que hacen que la vida valga la pena [Things that Make Worth Living, 2004]. Ana Belén is the connection between the two films, since she directed the first one and was the main character in the second one. Ana Belén won the Honorary Goya Award in February 2017 in celebration for her whole acting and singing career. It is interesting to see the role of women in both films and determine how the situation of women has progressed in the last decades. Readers will find a series of exercises on the film as well as two pieces of reading, with their corresponding activities, on the topics of gender violence and women at work. At the end of the document there is some information on the technical and artistic data of the two films.
