Abstract
This image was drawn by a 9 year old participant in a research diary. These were her words to tell me how her cerebral palsy affects her participation in recreational activities. “My name is Mary and I am 9 years old. I have something different about me. The thing I have is called cerebral palsy, it affects my legs so I don’t do heel-toe. This is a picture of my splint. I go to the hospital for physio and Bo-Tox. That’s where I have injections. The maximum is six because it helps me to walk properly. So now you know!...I have a lot of friends because I am nice and help people when they’re lonely. I have told them that I do have cerebral palsy. They do understand that I can’t run as fast as they can. It helps when you have got friends because they help you through times”.
