Abstract
Most people working in museums particularly those responsible for collection management are familiar with the concept of collection condition surveys. The use of statistical methods to sample survey collections may have made the process manageable but it is still an enormous commitment. The purpose of this paper is to examine if these surveys are being used in the most effective and efficient way.
