Abstract

Low-temperature reaction of lithium dialkyldialkynylborates Li+[R12B(CCR2)2]–(R1= 1,2-dimethylpropyl or cyclohexyl) with iodine in tetrahydrofuran gives symmetrical conjugated diynes in excellent yield.
