Georgakaki, Aliki and Sorenson, S. C. 2004. Report on collected data and resulting methodology for inland shipping. [Project Report]. DTU. |
Abstract
Deliverable D33 of the ARTEMIS project: Final report for the inland shipping part of work package 900. A review of inland shipping classification is performed and a scheme is chosen for use in the ARTEMIS project. The report describes the model developed for the calculation of energy consumption and emissions from inland shipping. An evaluation of the model is performed based on full-scale and model towing tank measurements provided by the European Development Centre for Inland and Coastal Navigation. A correlation for the calculation of the specific fuel consumption of engines typically in operation on inland vessels is also described. Example calculations are performed for typical vessels of each class under different conditions.
