Abstract
Discusses the higher proportion of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in care homes than in the wider community, suggests how the line between safety and safeguarding is blurred, and considers whether greater protection may have resulted from the virus being treated as a safeguarding issue for regulatory purposes under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
