Abstract
With doctors’ wages falling by up to 30% in 10 years, according to the BMA, combined with the rising cost of training for junior doctors, the loss of free accommodation, the pensions charges affecting our senior colleagues, among other things, it is important to do everything possible to mitigate the impact of declining incomes and rising tax bills. This editorial makes the case for reasons doctors need to be more financially aware and how to go about it.
