Abstract

The channel assignment problem has been traditionally formulated using binary channel separation constraints between pairs of transmitters. The accuracy of this model may be questioned, since it does not account for interfering signals radiating from multiple sources simultaneously. In this paper we present scenarios which show that inadequate signal strength may occur when only modelling the problem using binary constraints.
