Abstract
Don’t panic; this is not a thinly disguised announcement on the future of the “Microwave Bytes” column, at least not until I think of a topic for the next one. In fact, having finally discussed one of the “old chestnuts” of RF power amplifier (RFPA) design, the Doherty, in the last column, it seemed appropriate to turn attention to another one, the so-called “outphasing” PA. Being something of a well-worn subject that has perhaps had a bit too much airtime over the years, not to mention the decades, I thought some minor redressing for the title might help to steal a bit more attention.
