Abstract
The Claisen–Schmidt condensation of 1-aryl-4-acetyl-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazoles and trans-cinnamaldehyde in ethanolic sodium hydroxide (10 %) at room temperature gave (2E,4E)-1-(5-methyl-1-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-5-phenylpenta-2,4‑dien-1-ones in high yields. The influence of fluoro, chloro, and nitro substituents on crystal packing has been assessed by exploring molecular electrostatic properties and intermolecular interactions. Close C–H…O, C–H…N, and C–H…π interactions occur in these compounds. Isomorphism and polymorphism have been observed.
