Abstract

With the inclusion of large amount of Power Electronics and Renewable Energies (RE), the new Power Systems (PS) give the motivation to study the coupled behavior of voltage magnitude (V mag ), and phase angle (δ) during transient states generated due to disturbances in the PS. So, the Mutual dynamics of V mag , δ, Active Power (P) and Reactive Power (Q) are analyzed for Synchronous Generator (SG) as a base case. For this purpose, a Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB) and Multi Machine PS are simulated in Matlab/Simulink platform. Symmetrical, asymmetrical faults with different fault clearing time and changing the system strength, types of scenarios are created to study the Transient Stability (TS). This work will be useful in making the control mechanism for the different parts of the new Power System.
