Abstract
This chapter considers language use in relation to global health threats, focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic specifically. The chapter provides an overview of the information landscape of the pandemic, examining official communication sources (governmental discourses, health campaigns), news media and social media. Discourses around vaccination are further considered in detail. Adopted as a first-line health strategy during the pandemic, immunization constitutes a global health priority against outbreaks of infectious diseases.
