Abstract

In order to solve the problems of large shutdown current and limited soft switching range of single-stage dual active bridge (DAB) DC-AC converters, a dual-mode frequency-conversion phase-shift modulation strategy is proposed. Firstly, the power transfer characteristics of the DAB converter are analyzed in the time domain of the Single Phase Shift (SPS) modulation and the Extended Phase Shift (EPS) modulation. Then, the shutdown current and soft switching conditions of the converter are analyzed, and the shift ratio and switching frequency constraint equations are obtained. On this basis, the boundary conditions of the shift comparison between the two modes are analyzed, and the switching mechanism of the converter operation mode is proposed, so as to ensure the full-range soft switching and reduce the shutdown current on the low-voltage side while realizing the single-stage power conversion of the converter. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed modulation strategy are verified by simulations and experiments.
