Abstract

This lecture will focus on the subject of recent developments in Child Law. Changes which will be addressed will include legislative developments such as monitoring and enforcement provisions and contact activity directions and conditons introduced by the Children and Adoption Act 2006, changes to the rules conferring PR under the Adoption and Children Act 2002. Professor Lowe will also spend some time talking on legislative developments currently in the pipeline. He will concentrate in particular on the Children and Young Persons Bill 2008 which will make amendments to certain public and private law provisions of the Children Act 1989. He will also consider the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill 2008. Professor Lowe will finish with a look at some case law developments.
